We are a small family farm located in South Central Pennsylvania raising Emus to produce quality Emu products. We discovered the Emu through research and find the bird incredibly interesting. The Emu pronounced (ee-moo or ee- mew) is the second largest bird and is a part of the Ratite group. The Emu bird is an incredible flightless bird that is native to Australia. The natives of Australia the Aborigines people used the bird for food and medicinal purposes. Every part of the Emu was used by the Aborigine people. The quality of the Emu meat provides low fat meat less than 1.5% fat and with cholesterol at 85mg/100g, it's comparable to other lean meats. Emu meat is considered by the USDA to be a red meat because of it's color and pH value approximate that of beef. Emu fat is rendered to produce oil for medicinal and cosmetic products. The oil consists of mainly fatty acids , oleic acid, linoleic and palmitic acids. Evidence proves that Emu oil has anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and is an excellent source of Omega 3, 6, & 9 fatty acids. The oil has trans-dermal properties that allow the oil to penetrate the skin and deliver the benefits of the oil to the body. The oil has been linked to the easing of gastrointestinal inflammation and tests have shown it may help ease muscle and joint pain more so than olive or fish oils. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or simply to talk EMU... Thank you, Enjoy!!
